Located in the arched basement in the center of the town, the restaurant-spaghetteria Boban has for many years been a host to people of different profiles. Usually full to the last seat, this restaurant lives with its guests. It is specialized for Italian food, with a great selection of pastas, salads, risottos, fish, grilled meat and home-made sweets.
In Boban, you won't feel awkward at all. On the contrary, this place has so many people going in and out that the hubbub of voices is sometimes louder than the street. Just like in a genuine Italian trattoria. The concept of an Italian restaurant is authentic to the last detail. The menu is good enough to help keep the numerous patrons who come here for lunch in company of their business partners or close friends. It's a place you go to when you don’t want anything complicated, want you want to eat decently prepared, “down-to-earth” in almost family atmosphere.
When it comes to pastas, our favorite is penne all’arrabiata, while the vegetarians will definitely like cannelloni with ricotta and spinach. Black risotto at Boban's is often very good to excellent, with a lot of cuttlefish, which is usually not the case in other restaurants of this price range.
You should not expect to get haute cuisine or recent gastronomic trends in this restaurant. The prices don't oblige you to. Boban’s great price to quality ratio, its location and decent menu have enabled it to win and keep many patrons. But, if we take into account the extensive menu and the variety of guests, Boban should definitely improve their wine list.
