Bob Lemon – a baseball legend
Robert Granville Lemon (1920 - 2000) is one of baseball’s legends. He started in the Major League Baseball (MLB) as a hitter, but his fame came as a pitcher for the Cleveland Indians in late 1940’s and 1950’s, when he won two World Series. After an extremely successful player career, Lemon managed several MLB teams, and won the World Series from the bench with the New York Yankees. In 1976 he was admitted in the Baseball Hall of Fame, highest acknowledgment in this sport.
