Adzic 2007 Pinot sivi

Adzic 2007 Pinot sivi
Semi-dry
Kutjevo wine-growing region

We have already written about Adzic’s Pinot Gris on Limun.hr, for 2004 harvest. On the slopes of Kutjevo wine growing region, this variety found excellent micro-climatic conditions, so the surrounding area of Kutjevo, we can freely say, is the most important place in Croatia where Pinot Gris is grown.

The wine has a straw yellow hue with crystal reflections in the glass. It was made as a semi-dry wine. In terms of quality, we are under the impression that 2007 harvest was of better quality than 2004. In other words, with the fruit aromas of ripe apples, succulent peaches and exotic fruits and fruit aromas, the aromatic composition also adds a discreet note of dryness, that we can’t say we felt in 2004 harvest. It can be felt even better on the palate. On the palate, this wine is full, rounded, with a lot of deliciosity, so a lot of people will like it. However, this deliciosity comes from the unfermented sugar, which is felt on the palate like notes of honey or caramel, and has nothing in common with the commercial note of sweetness that is characteristic for many poor to mediocre wines, mostly from the export.

The wine has 13,5 of alcohol by volume, but regardless of the aromatic composition and wine structure that are almost borderline liquerous, this alcohol won’t be felt at all. Indeed, this warm wine is very smooth and goes down nicely. It is suitable for any occasion, and it is especially suitable well chilled in these humid summer days.

Best paired with: all types of fish, seafood salads, soft cheeses, especially sheep ricotta cheese. Gastro.hr recommends Parmesan eggplants.
