Lemon Festival
Each Spring, for more than 75 years Menton, a city in the South of France, has been living under the sign a lemon for a fortnight or so. La fete du Citron or the Lemon Festival takes place at that time. It is a gathering of citrus manufacturers from all around the globe, but it also attracts renowned designers. They come, inspired by lemon flowers, fruits and leaves, to this city in Provanse to create astonishing taperstries and sculptures made of fruits and flowers that are traditionally exhibited in the Gardens of Light (Jardins Biovès) or at The Parade of Golden Fruit.
This festival is uniqe in the world so it is no wonder that almost 250 thousand visitors come to see it, which places it among the most frequented events on the Côte d'Azur, just behind the Nice Carnical and the Formula One Grand Prix race in Monaco.
