Rosemount Estate Mountain Blue 2000

Rosemount Estate Mountain Blue 2000
Shiraz Cabernet

Rosemount Estate, one of the biggest Australian wineries, says for its Mountain Blue that it is a jewel from the crown of new vineyards in the Mudgee region, on the western slopes of the Blue Mountains in New South Wales. Some also call it a flagship, since it is a premium blend of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, reflecting the regional attributes of Mudgee terroir.

This is blend of 85 percent of Shiraz and 15 percent of Cabernet Sauvignon. We notice the deliciosity that developed during the two-year aging in American and French oak barrels, completed with fruit texture and a firm tannin spine. This wine has an exceptional aging potential – more than 15 years if properly stored.

The wine is heated by 14 percent of alcohol by volume, excellently blended into intensive fruit aromas and noticeable tannins. This is a rich, deep wine that reveals blueberry, plum and spice aromas. It has a characteristic dark red hue, and the aromas range from fruit, mint, ginger, all the way to the characteristic oak.

The wine is available in a very limited quantity, as it is usually the case with premium bottles. Our recommendation is: book your bottle, store it and open it for a truly special occasion.
