In August last year, Prime Minister Milo Đukanović took a loan from the London branch office of Greek Pireus Bank to purchase shares of Prva banka. On August 3, 2007, Capital invest officially bought 11.657 shares of Prva banka (approximately 7 percent) for 1.489.997 euro.
In a statement released on August 19, the Money Laundering Prevention Administration stated that Capital invest took a loan for purchase of stock with a London bank, and that it is evident from the contract that the loan repayment is guaranteed with purchased shares.
However, the deposit was not registered before October 11. According to the confirmed information, Capital invest deposited 8.000 shares of Prva banka, and not 11.657 it purchased on the stock exchange. The public in Montenegro is asking how Đukanović managed to deposit the shares he did not even buy.
