Romania's central bank, BNR, said on Wednesday it decided to keep its monetary policy rate unchanged at 5.25% on expectations of higher inflation in the second half of 2012 and volatile external environment.
"The analysis of macroeconomic indicators suggests the persistence of aggregate demand deficit amid the modest growth of investments and private consumption," the central bank said in a statement.
