Bulgaria's BTC UMTS coverage at 97.81%, Mobiltel’s at 97.64%

Bulgarian fixed and mobile network operator Vivacom topped the local market in 2011 with a UMTS coverage in terms of capita of 97.81%, the country’s communications regulator said.

The company was followed by Telekom Austria's Bulgarian subsidiary Mobiltel with coverage of 97.64% and wireless operator Globul with 92.95%, the Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) said in an annual report posted recently on its website.
