The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said it has agreed to a 57 million euro ($70 million) loan for the Serbian capital to co-finance the Belgrade public transport and traffic infrastructure improvement project.

The loan will enable the city to finance key investments needed to complete its transport and traffic management strategy, including construction of a tram track over the new Sava bridge, renovation of tram tracks and Belgrade's main roads to secure a better and safer traffic flow, the EBRD said in a statement on Thursday.
