Croatia’s gas transmission system operator Plinacro and Russia's Gazprom have agreed the technical details of a potential transit route through Croatia for the South Stream gas pipeline, Croatian media reported on Monday.

If the Russian government and Gazprom decide that South Stream should pass through Croatia instead of Hungary, a decision that should be made over the next two months, construction works in the Adriatic country should begin in 2015 and last about a year, news daily Jutarnji List (www.jutarnji.hr) reported, quoting unnamed sources close to the negotiations.
