Romanian housing bank BCR BpL trebles H1 net profit

Romanian housing bank BCR Banca pentru Locuinte (BCR BpL) said on Wednesday its first-half net profit more than trebled to 10.8 million lei ($3.03 million/2.4 million euro) from 3.3 million lei a year earlier.

At end-June the bank's total assets were 80% higher than a year earlier, while loans extended by BCR BpL trebled from the end of 2011 to 16.8 million lei, BCR BpL said in a statement...
